Prop Data’s New Feed Management System

Prop Data’s New Feed Management System

Up until now, managing inbound and outbound data feeds has been a very cumbersome, confusing and time consuming exercise for most Estate Agents as they lacked access to feed log information. In fact, they’ve been kept totally in the dark. Barring contacting our Support Centre, it has been virtually impossible for an Estate Agent to know if or when Prop Data received a listing from a 3rd party software system and whether or not it was successfully published on their company website and the major property portals.

Feeds Management System

To solve this problem and take the hassle and frustration out of feeds, Prop Data recently launched the new Feeds Management System. This latest enhancement to the Prop Data Management System provides Estate Agents with a window into feeds and enables them to easily monitor and manage both inbound feeds from PropCtrl or Fusion and outbound feeds to Property24 and Private Property. Users are given a full real time overview of every listing in the system at either an agent, office or group level depending on the user’s level of access.

How do feeds work?

Firstly, a property listing is captured directly into the Prop Data Management System or received through a feed from either PropCtrl or Fusion. That listing data and photos are then published on the company’s website and then syndicated to either Property24 or Private Property.

The Feeds Management System is basically a log of all feed data and it comprises of 4 main categories of information; namely Listing, Inbound Feed, Website and Outbound Feed.

Listing

The listing information provides the user with an accurate reference to every property listing included in the feed log and includes the property’s web reference number, status, listing agent’s name, listing type and physical address. The user has the ability to select and edit the listing directly in the Prop Data Management System.

Inbound Feed

The inbound feed log then displays the exact date and time a listing record was received from either PropCtrl or Fusion and gives the user the ability to manually synchronize the databases and update records on Prop Data in real time.

Website

The website section will tell the user whether or not a listing was successfully published on their company website. If successful, the user is able to click and view the listing on the website. If the listing failed to publish to the website, a reason will be provided.

Outbound Feeds

Likewise, the outbound feeds section will let the user know whether or not a listing was successfully published on Property24 or Private Property. If successful, the user is provided with the portal’s reference number and is able to click and view the listing on the property portal. However, if the listing failed to publish to the portal, a detailed reason is provided. The user then has the ability to update the listing and then manually synchronize the databases and update the portal in real time.

Prop Data’s new Feed Management System has finally empowered the Estate Agent and given them the tools they need to effectively access, monitor and manage all their feed information. It certainly won’t solve every problem, however it will provide the industry with insight and far better understanding of all feed related issues.
